Langtang Tamang heritage trek is the trek to ancient Tamang heritage trail of Langtang region. Its location is in central Himalaya. This trek is cultural and scenic country walk. We walk through high Langtang Himal area. We get immense views mountain ranges in the Langtang region. They have been passed hundred of centuries in the same place. Tamang community people shifted from Tibet and they are of Mongolian origin. They have been migrated to Nepal past 5,000 years ago. The history of Tamang originally is a horseman (Ta for horse and marred in Tibetan) who is riding on a red horse. They are royal family of Tibet and Mongolia and cavalry soldiers of past many kings. It will be so much interesting to trek through Tamang traditional villages.
Langtang Tamang heritage trek is started with a scenic drive up to Syabrubesi (headquarter of Rasuwa district). From here we follow the trial to Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman, Briddim and Lama Hotel. We fully trek on the land surface area of Langtang National park. If we are lucky enough we can see Red panda playing over here. In this route, we get the spectacular views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal range. In our path, we can see many scripted flags, mani walls, and curtains. It is the main evidence of Buddhist culture. Enjoying all this we will lastly be at syabrubesi and we drive back to Kathmandu to end our trek.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,327 m and transfer to hotel.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives from Everest Trekking Routes will welcome you. He/she will asset you and transfer you to the hotel for your overnight.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Today, you will do a day tour in Kathmandu valley. In morning time you will visit Pashupatinath (oldest and holy Hindu temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhist temple is known as little Tibet), and Swayambhunath (monkey temple). Finishing this we return for lunch. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan Durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square you will visit Kumari temple (temple of the living goddess).
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m - 07 hrs journey.
Early morning we drive to Rasuwa district to Langtang region. This drive directly leads us to high hills. It gives us views of Himalayan peaks and rolling green hills. We pass through many farm villages and towns. And finally, we reach a nice Tamang community village at Syabrubesi for our night passing through Dhunche. It is an entrance of Langtang National Park begins.
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang 2,200 m - 05 hrs.
It is our first-day walk. From Syabrubesi, we begin following a gentle and winding uphill trail. We walk through Goljung village. In this period we are offered with super views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal. Leaving Goljung village short ups and down path leads us to a large scattered Tamang village in Gatlang. Here we find few fine and cozy Home Stay cottage and huts for our night.
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani 2,607 m - 06 hrs.
Gatlang village has an old monastery. Early morning we are welcomed with warm hospitality and Khada (silk scarf) of Buddhist culture. With this, we have a very warm morning. Having breakfast we continue our walk to Tatopani. Walking for a few hours we can see newly built Chilime Hydropower project at River Chilime. Crossing suspension bridge over Chilime River we follow uphill trial for few hours and reach Tatopani to spend our night.
Day 06: Trek to Thuman 2,400 m via Nagthali - 06 hrs.
Tatopani means Hot Water in Nepali. Here we can see natural hot spring nearby. Early morning we will enjoy the hot spring and it will cure many diseases. Being fresh we continue our trek to Thuman. Spectacular views of Ganesh Himal will give good starting in our walk. We climb into the dense forest of rhododendron, pines, magnolia and oaks tree. In this way, we reach Nagthali Danda. Looking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal with an array of adjoin peaks we head down to Thuman village for our night.
Day 07: Trek to Briddim 2,345 m - 06 hrs.
Our today’s destination is Briddim village. Morning walk begins descending to river Trisuli. We overlook the trail to Tibet from a far distance. Crossing a river we walk along downhill at Briddim. Briddim is pretty farm village with the old monastery. In afternoon we visit old monastery treasures having many historical artifacts with a tall statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and Guru Dingboche “Padmasamba”.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350 m - 05 hrs.
We have almost visited villages with Tamang heritage. It was a great interesting time, walking downhill back to Trisuli River. We pass Khangjim village close to Syabrubesi village. It is started with 2-3 hours climb. Then we get good trail passing farm fields and terraces. Continuing our walk at Riverside lodge (junction to Upper or Thulo Syabru) we will be at Lama Hotel for our night.
Day 09: Trek to Syabrubesi- 06 hrs.
With a superb time in Tamang heritage villages, we lastly say goodbye to this valley. Today’s walk will be the last day walk of our fabulous trek. We just need to trek downhill in most of our way to reach the bridge over Bhote-Kosi (Upper Trisuli River). From the bridge, we will have a pleasant walk and reach Syabrubesi village.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu - 06 hrs.
Having a great country walk on the scenic trail to Langtang region we lastly drive back to Kathmandu. It will take us about 6 to 7 hours to reach Kathmandu. Reaching on Kathmandu, you can do last minute shopping in Kathmandu. At night we celebrate Farewell Dinner together with the trekking team.
Day 11: Final International departure homeward bound.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Kathmandu. Your journey in Nepal comes to an end today. You are transferred to the airport for your returning flight. Have a safe journey. Hope you will return back to Nepal again.
